Steps away from Coor's Field, The Rally Hotel is the cornerstone of Denver's Ballpark neighborhood. The hotel itself is designed to cater to baseball fans and nonfans alike with a brand that balances an homage to classic Mid-West design and baseball nostalgia.

The Rally Hotel brand lives as a system of diverse expressions. I built a library of lockups, glyphs and illustrations that each speak to the Rally brand in a different way. Every element is referencial to baseball without being overt, focusing more on the energy and excitement of a game.
Much of the brand was inspired by old Denver ghost signs, including the color palette. Though each color's given name is a nod to baseball, the tones themselves were pulled from surrounding historical buildings as a way to immerse this new project into the landscape and avoid anything overly modern.
My team developed a custom typeface with two heights designed to enable vertical stacking, particularly within the number set. These two heights were also developed in both fill and outline styles, and were used primarily in the hotel's wayfinding system.
The Rally brand system references oldschool score boards, tickets, stamps and marquees, resulting as blocks of underlined type, bound headlines with scorecard breaker boxes, small bound and unbound diamonds and perforated separation lines.
